Located on the west shore of Chincoteague Bay, Captain's Cove is a charming and quaint coastal community that is full of amenities, adventure, and relaxation. Captain's Cove borders Maryland to the north and lies on Virginia's eastern shore with water all around that's perfect for fishing, kayaking, and many other activities. If you're in the mood to explore the coast, Captain's Cove is only a 20-minute drive to Chincoteague and Assateague Island where you can find the nearest beach. Ocean City, Maryland is only a 30 minute drive where you can find another beach and a lot of exciting boardwalk activities before you nestle back into the cozy Captain's Cove community.
Part of the Captain's Cove Golf & Yacht Club, the vacation rentals in this area give you access to a host of community amenities such as a golf course, walking trails, an indoor pool, and several community-exclusive restaurants. Bring your dog to one of our pet-friendly vacation rentals and enjoy the dog park as well as beautiful walks through the community and along the shoreline.

Captain's Cove Dining
There are two restaurants located in the Captain's Cove community. The Marina Restaurant is open throughout the week and offers delicious seafood and grill options all with a waterfront view. Town Center Grille is another great option for visitors. They are open from 8am-4pm and make for a great, delicious lunch as you're exploring the town.
If you want to explore outside of Captain's Cove, check out The Harbor's End Seafood in Greenbackville, just a short drive away. You'll always find delicious food nearby or just grab some groceries and cook some delicious meals in your vacation rental!
Pet-Friendly Activities
There are great options for those bringing along their furry friends! A walking trail that goes through the community is the perfect place for daily exercise for your pup and offers scenic views of the town and Chincoteague Bay. You can run, walk or bike your way through!
Want to let your pet run off some energy? Check out the dog park located at Cove Commons which is open from 7am-Dusk.
Three Pools & Tiki Bar
When you stay at Captain's Cove, you get access to three different pools and a tiki bar at our Marina Club! Enjoy some delicious treats poolside while you soak up the sun in one of the two outdoor pools. Did it start raining? Don't worry! There is an indoor pool that you can go enjoy as well. With all these pool options, you don't have to worry about the crowds and can just relax in or near the water.
Sports of All Kinds
Captain's Cove wants to make sure you always have something fun and exciting to do when you visit. Visit our famous 9-hole golf course that is perfect for quick morning rounds with your friends or to practice your long and short game. The course is pristinely maintained and a highlight of staying in Captain's Cove.
Not wanting to golf? Try a more high-energy sport with our basketball and tennis courts at Town Center. Whether you're just wanting to stay active or you feel a competitive streak coming out, these are great options to keep you moving before you relax pool or bayside.
Finally, if you just want to get in a workout and stay in shape, take advantage of the community's fitness center! The fitness center is open from 5am to 9pm daily so you can get your sweat on any time of day.
